In 2013, Irma launched Maya Translation Services to fulfill the demand businesses and individuals have for high-quality and professional translation services. She takes pride in applying her knowledge of the Spanish-English language to produce and translate documents accurately with correct syntax and grammar. She is very excited to offer her high-quality professional translation services to the public and looks forward to meeting and exceeding her customers’ expectations.
“Irma Castillo is one of the best, if not, the best, translators in Bakersfield. I hired Irma to translate articles for El Californiano, a bilingual weekly newspaper publication with a circulation of 70,000. Her job was to handle multiple articles written in English and accurately translate them into Spanish following the Associated Press and our newspaper style. Often, she did this while under deadline. Her accuracy impressed me tremendously. In another project, Irma translated our "Latinoamerica" section, a bilingual section about Latin American history that was published in MAS Magazine, a Latino publication with a circulation of about 50,000 in Bakersfield. As part of that assignment, she was often responsible for gathering the content for that section, translating it in both English and Spanish and finding relevant photographs and captions to support that page. Irma also supported our Advertising Department by translating the copy of various ads so that they were presented in an accurate, professional and culturally sensitive manner for our readership. These are just small examples of the work she has done for me. I go on and on about the contributions of Irma. Bottom line: If you need translation services from someone who is efficient, reliable, a perfectionist, can handle the pressure of multiple deadlines and carries the right attitude and smile, then she is the one. There is no other person that meets her caliber, professionalism and work ethic. Hands down.” Olivia Garcia - Editor - Bakersfield Life & BWell magazines
